My African mud turtle finally arrived today, via UPS, a day late. He was packed warmly and is enjoying his new tank. His face is smiling, with little alert eyes, and freckled all over. For having survived a house fire and several owners Sly is doing remarkably well. And a lucky coincidence, my zoo friend Ken Hovey, has a female. Sly climbs on the sandy basking area and watches me at the computer and seems to like it if I come to his tank and talk to him. I adopted him from MATTS (Mid-Atlantic Turtle/Tortoise Society) in Virginia.
If you would like to see him or my critter room let me know. It's not fancy but the critters seem happy.
