Eye Cap Empty Eye Cap

Post  Spider Woman Sat Jul 16, 2011 10:17 pm

There is one eye cap that didn't come off and I can't wipe it off with a wet papertowl. Should i soak him in a pillow case or is there a conditioner out there i can buy to rub on it? I know I can use neosporin for like the tip of the tail when my other snake didn't shed the tip but I don't think that would be such a good idea for the eyes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Any suggestions besides soaking?

Gently rub it with a wet q-tip. That worked great for me on a rescue BP a while back.

Robin,

By "him" I assume you're talking about one of your snakes.

Do not buy or put anything on his eye.

Put him in a wet pillow case and leave him for two or three hours.

Make sure the pillow case does not have the cold air from an air conditioner hitting it.

When you take him out, if the eye cap is still there try gently rubbing it again with wet papertowels.

Be patient, sometimes you have to gently rub it for awhile.

If the eye cap still won't come off, bring him to the meeting Thursday night and I'll take care of it for you.
