new sulcata

someone at work was moving and had to give him away so i got him. i was hoping for a female but turns out is another male. so far him and Mr T aren't getting along very well. if they can't decide to live together in peace then the new one is going to have to find a new home....

I think Mr. T likes him so much that he is creating some shade, so that the new guy won,t have to eat in the hot sun.

good theory David....wish that was the case! i really do hope they settle down. i really want to keep them both. i have a good home lined up for the little guy though if they can't get along....

You could keep him and use him as a teaser stud for when you get your female

Looked like he was showing the newb who the boss was. I've heard male torts can be kind of brutal with one another if they don't get along.

Yeah, I'm keeping a close eye on them.

What do they do when they fight?

they were both ramming each other yesterday. Mr. T would bite at his shell, then he would get on top of him and push him around that way. the little guy stood his ground though and tried to push Mr T around also. so far this morning Mr T hasn't come out of his shed yet. the little one is out sunning. we'll see what happens....

well, i think i got the problem fixed. i traded this young male off to Landee for a young female. i have not introduced Mr T to her yet, i'm going to slowly ease him into it. let him see her behind a barrier for a week or so and then see what happens. she's kinda small, but definitely a female. i'd say within about 5 years she may be ready for a piece of Mr T!
