Youth Camp-A. Bullfrog
I would like to find a large adult American Bullfrog to put on display for the youth camp. I will not be down until the 11th so if you can't hold it, I understand.
Thanks! Tandy

Re: Youth Camp-A. Bullfrog
Guess what I just found on the steps to the gym on base. Tympanic membranes seem to indicate male, but I'm not good at sexing these. He was just sitting there under the canopy. I wouldn't call him "large" but he is probably 5 to 6 inches with his legs tucked.
I'd be happy to hold him for you until the camp and release him afterwards. I will have to try really hard not to get attached. I love bullfrogs.

After a closer look, I think it is female. White chin and tympanic membranes are only slightly bigger than the eyes. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Here are some pics of the temporary habitat that I threw together for him (2 guys named Richard agree that it is a male).
This was right after he ate that dubia roach in the picture above. He then proceeded to jump around the entire tank really fast. I think the camera scared him. I'll leave him alone for the night.

Re: Youth Camp-A. Bullfrog
No problem. I'll try to fatten him up for you before the camp. He likes the male dubia roaches, but isn't interested in rodents or fish. Go figure.
Re: Youth Camp-A. Bullfrog
This little dude is too cool. He has been eating 2 dusted, adult, male dubias for me every day, and he doesn't seem to mind me picking him up when I need to clean. He also shed today and is looking really good. I noticed that he is missing a toe or 2 on one of his front legs, but it doesn't seem to bother him.
Re: Youth Camp-A. Bullfrog
He was giving me the stink eye when I came into the room the other day. I thought this picture was pretty funny.
He is eating very well now. He even took a f/t hopper on Sunday. He will be plump and happy for the youth camp.

Re: Youth Camp-A. Bullfrog
Ali and I woke up to this guy singing this morning. At least he did it right before the alarm was going to go off anyway.
