worms
Well embarassing enough and to my dissapointment I noticed that one of my ball pythons pooped out some worms. I have never encountered this ever. I need to get some meds for him for sure. Just curious if any of you have ran into this and if so how did you deal with it. I do have pics, however its quite disgusting so I will not post them. To me they look like a smaller version of a tape worm.

Re: worms
I have never seen them in my snakes, but I use Panacur every 6 months as a preventative measure. Just inject a little down the mouth of the feeder rodent and feed.
Re: worms
My parasite book says for tapeworms use Droncit 5-8 mg/kg orally or injected IM or SC. Repeat in 2 weeks. Any animals that shared his tub or enclosure should be treated as well. But do what your vet says as they go to school for a reason. Just not a vet that has never treated reptiles. A pinky pump would probably come in handy right now.
Re: worms
This brings up an awesome question I haven't asked yet because I haven't ran into it yet but sooner or later I'm sure I will:
Flagyl
Panacur
Droncit
How do we get ourselves some as they are most commonly used medications for reptiles. If anyone knows or has access to some at shows or whatever, could you PM me? Thx!

Re: worms
Anyone know where I can pick some up in tulsa? Or should I just call the vet and get it from them?

I called them and although they will not sell you the medicine outright they do have very reasonable visit prices when you do run into issues. I think a visit fee was only like 28$. That's pretty cheap I think. Thanks Larry!
Re: worms
Anyway Zac, Thanks for bringing this topic up. Took guts and I hope your snake gets better soon! That's all I care about.
Re: worms
Scott,
Swaim is a wholesale only store, but like many wholesale only stores, the cashiers don't seem to care.
I just walked in, picked up a tube, looked around and then paid for it.
No problem.
(It's fun just to look around there. Lots of cool stuff.)
If I'm ever ask if I have a "purchase order number" or anything like that, I just say no.
I've never been turned away yet.

Re: worms
You could also try an Atwoods, Tractor Supply, or any livestock feed or supply store. Just be careful with dosing.
