Finally

I've been releasing box turtles into my backyard for years.

Because of the landscaping I've done, they are maintenance free and the cement

retaining wall under our fence ensures they don't escape into the community.

I really enjoy watching them, but when it gets hot they don't show themselves unless

I'm watering.

I've been hoping they would eventually breed and this evening, while I was

watering, I saw my first baby.

That is great! New little ones! Backyards and tortoises...lots of fun. The sprinkler gets turned on every other day here. They absolutely love it.

Wahoo! Congrats! There's nothing cuter than a baby turtle. I have a
"herd" of toads that show up at our back door every evening. I love watching them too.

I'm very surprised, aren't you a little old to be having babies, at your age that can't be to heathly for you. It does take a toll on the old body! But you have been carring that belly around since I've known you.
