Black Widow
One of my black widows, which I have had for about 1 and 1/5 years now kicked the bucket tonight. I don't know how old she was when I found her, but she was already pretty big and then she molted soon after I got her home. She died of old age and lived life with a belly full of crickets, roaches and wax worms. I think she died as happy as a spider can be.
I keep one of these around to show people what they actually look like, and I still have a younger one that I found a few months ago. The one that died was the first one I have kept and we named her Charlotte, of course. Her picture is in the OCHIS pamphlet, "A Quick Guide For Recognizing Venomous Snakes and Invertebrates in Oklahoma".

Re: Black Widow
Sorry to hear it too. Finally a celebrity I'm sorry we lost. At least Charlotte's legacy will be remembered in the OCHIS pamphlet. I once had a female live for 3 1/2 years. She was great.
