I don't keep tortoises, but I would think that it is still a little early for them to be thinking about hibernation. It hit 100 degrees yesterday.
Re: im having trouble with my russions
How big are they and how long have they been outside? I haven't seen my male since mid July. One of the three females has been buried since the beginning of August and the other two come out every other day or so. It has been so hot this year that they have burrowed down to avoid the heat. Mine are full grown adults and have been outdoors for the past 2 years every day. I wouldn't worry about yours yet though, unless it's not an adult. If it is a younger one, I would bring it in when it is going to be cool, just to be safe. If it's an adult, then I would just let it do what it does. Something else, what kind of enclosure is it in? The dirt/substrate that is in there may need to be tilled in order for it to burrow, especially if it's a younger one. It also needs to be fairly deep.

Jordan,
Plowed/turned with a shovel.
IMO it's too early for them to dig in for the winter.
Remember where they are from.
Oklahoma winters don't compare.
I agree with Cameron though.
I'd bring the smaller one in before we get a hard freeze just to be safe.
