Larry, looks like he eats off of particulate substrate. Don't you have a lecture for him or something?
Re: Recent Photos of my Snake Collection
Cameron Y.,
No.
I've given up on Cameron H. and a few others.
Experience will be the best teacher although with some folks, even after they're burned they keep going back to the flame.
(Remember the particulate substrate in the nostril ?)

Larry,
I think he was talking about Cameron H. His dining room table has particulate substrate all over it in the pics, so he must personally eat off of particulate substrate.

Michael,
No need to.
I read/took that to mean he took the cages out of the bedrooms and put them (the cages) on the dining-room table to photograph the snakes (in their cages).
If he put particulate substrate and the other cages furnishings out on the dining room table itself, and his folks find out, he may be moving back to Stillwater sooner than he thinks.

Re: Recent Photos of my Snake Collection
Hahaha! Cameron Y. and Michael are correct. I spread substrate and decor on the actual dining table, but I did have a layer of poster-board paper separating the substrate from the table. But, every time the snakes would dart to make a run for it they would send the substrate flying all over our carpet! lol I did a very thorough vacuuming job when finished! Oh, and Larry, my folks have learned to adjust to these sort of activities!
I am glad you guys liked the shots though!

Re: Recent Photos of my Snake Collection
Now if your serious, how in the world did you get them to stay still enough to take pic's? Your camera must take good action shots!

My hat's off to your folks.
I just couldn't imagine you doing that.

Re: Recent Photos of my Snake Collection
The main technique that I use is where I take a good hiding spot that they fit snugly into and I make them go into the hiding spot. I then gently remove the hide and I begin to snap away with the photos. Sometimes when I do this I only get one decent shot from each time I lift the hide before they decide to bolt away. It takes a lot of patience... (Any of those who have been field herping with me have seen me do this)Spider Woman wrote:Now if your serious, how in the world did you get them to stay still enough to take pic's? Larry, they surprisingly didn't really mind as long as I cleaned it up well. Since some of my snakes are so fast I wasn't going to risk loosing one by taking their pics outside in a true natural setting.
