what type of retro stat are you snake guys using

i am going to be buying a retro stat or some type of thermostat just wondering what you all would suggest

will be using it to control ball python racks

For starters...not a fan of Reo-stats, they're great for diming the lights in your living room! Don't really know what your set-ups are or what kind of animals you are keeping. Also, not a big fan of pet store type thermostats like A-Life or Zoomed Repti-temp. A lot of people think that Helix are the greatest thing since sliced bread...again, not a big fan! Personally, for quite some time now, I have been using Ranco ETC-11100. I buy them for $57 a piece with no problems!

I like the ranco's too. I kind of want to try Helix and some of the others but <expletive> talka bout pricey. I've tried some of the inexpensive pet store style ones with awful results, so I'll stick to the better stuff myself.

i make my own rheo stats.... have for years if you're not gonna be there to check on them all the time or have a room that's a steady temp i would reccommend against them. but if you can control other factors they're pretty nice esp if you have several diff things in the same room that needs all diff temps rather than having to get one for each individual set of temps needed.
