Mrs T
Well, like I said in another post, I traded the new male I picked up to Landee and Richard for this little female. The kids have named her Mrs. T. I have her separated with a see-through fence so Mr T can get used to her before I officially introduce them together. Here are some pics....
on her front porch
proof she's a girl!
HUGE thanks to Richard and Landee!!!!!!!!

When making an outdoor enclosure do you have to burry the fence that you are going to use so they don't dig out? Tomorrow or the next day I'm going to start (sigh) building mine.

i didn't for my sulcata's. they can burrow, but mine haven't. i keep a close eye on them though and if they start i will have to figure something out. if they have plenty of places to hide and stuff i doubt they will be inclined to burrow.
Re: Mrs T
Look at those eyes, you can tell she will woo Mr. T off his little short stubby feet
Where did you get her home (the little building)? That is so cute.

Robin, the little ornamental doghouse came with the male that was given to me last week. I'm surprised, but they both loved it. They go into it all the time.

Those wooden cages I got from you, I was thinking about taking the tops and bottoms off and converting those somehow. I've seen some peoples enclosures are made with chicken wire. I'm like you, I want a few enclosures because I wanna catch a few more box turtles. I let mine roam around outside for a while but stay close to him/her.

Re: Mrs T
i wouldn't use wire, man. you want easy? go and get a few 2X12's and some 2X2's (or get 2x4's and rip them down the middle). take those 2x2's and cut them about 2' long and drive them down about a foot into the ground where you want the corners of your enclosure to be. then take those 2x12's and lay them up and screw them to the 2x2's staked into the ground. easy and effective.

Ok thanks man. My dad has a bunch of extra lumber laying around. I'm gonna check out what he has. I love building stuff so this is gonna be fun.

he won't. it's 7/8" strut bolted together with 1/4-20 bolts and nuts. the strut that is staked into the ground are down around a foot in some real hard dirt. he has tried and walked away defeated....
