Panlong...my waterdragon
My waterdragon is getting a little bigger, so I just thought I would post a few pictures.
How many more W.D. owners are there here?

Re: Panlong...my waterdragon
After the experiences with iguanas the farthest Im headed into lizards now are the beardies my kids have.
Re: Panlong...my waterdragon
he looks great, David...but I have to say from seeing the enclosure in person...the enclosure is even better looking!
Re: Panlong...my waterdragon
Wow! Yeah, sure looks like a great enclosure! I really like that first pic!
Well, I had an adult male water dragon that I kept for about a year for Benji! I really enjoyed him though (but I definitely prefer snakes)! They sure are beautiful lizards!

Funny, his tail is twice the length as he is.

That tail makes a good whip too.

Re: Panlong...my waterdragon
I love these little guys, but I've never kept a lizard, and they seem a little more high maintenance than snakes.
Are WDs pretty laid back? I considered a beardie or a uromastyx first for handling's sake, but now I'm eyeballing these little boogers!

Re: Panlong...my waterdragon
Waterdragons need room. Room to climb, room to swim and room to run around on the ground. The enclosure needs to be big. Leopard geckos are the easiest to care for. Uromastyx are great! I really like my mali-uromastyx. They are veggie eaters so no inscects to keep. Having a good uvb bulb is important for them. 120 degree basking spot is what they like.

Re: Panlong...my waterdragon
I love leopard geckos, but I just really don't have a desire to keep them myself. I know beardies are fun, but I just really like the chunkiness of the uromastyx.... plus, no bugs (something I didn't know)!
As far as personality and taming goes for Water Dragons, are they just as good?
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Panlong...my waterdragon
I found my dragon to be a kamakazi when out. He stays in the enclosure now. He will let me stroke the back of his head and hand feed him and work in his cage. He has his space and I have mine. Some folks handle them often enough to where they will tolerate being handled a lot. I don't think I could ever tame mine nor do I want to. He is very good at his threat displays and I like that.
