Boa ID Empty Boa ID

Does anyone have info./resource for identifying the boa subspecies, especially imperator and constrictor? I have had so many boas come through rescue lately that I am curious about identifying them if possible. Some resources I have found talk about some possible variances in disposition, number of saddles, and color but not much solid ID info. I know there are hot debates about whether or not they are species/subspecies.

Thanks! Tandy

I have always heard that true red tails (Bcc) have the peaks on their saddles while Columbians (Bci) do not. However there is so much mixing going on these days that it is unsafe to label them one way or another unless you know their lineage. I'd guess a large majority of rescues are from pet store purchases and most pet stores carry mutts that resemble Bci more than anything else.
