Only found a half-frozen leopard frog yesterday,no photos b/c my cell phone died half way thru my hunt.
Stop by Lake Murray Today and seen a water snake sunning its self on some rocks at the dam. Too far for my cellphone to capture a image/heard some frogs calling in the marshy areas behind the dam.

NO HERPS CAPTURED YET....but seen some red ear sliders, and a verrry large snapping turtle in one of the ponds. Heard Bullfrogs calling and seen 1, but he jumped into deepwater. I'm uploading some pictures of the area I was searching. Its a Deep ravine that looks to be great snake habitat. Seen some deer, coyote and bobcat tracks. Heard a bobcat yowling from across the fence, but couldnt spot it.

I'll be returning next week, I'm thinking about constructing some turtle traps, maybe catch that large snapper.

Are there any standing pools in the creek? Might be a salamander around.

There was alot of water, I didn't take shots of most of the ravine. I looked for some salamanders, but didnt find it. You could literially spend days in just the ravine searching all of the cracks and rocks.

Med.Geckos are back out on the front porch. Came home last night and see a large one sitting by the porch light, hopefully more made it thru the winter. I'll upload a pic later.

Went to blue river today to take photos of it floodng. Got some decent shots, it was extremely high a few days ago, but has come down alot. Seen a few frogs, alot of stuff was washed away. Decided to stop by Tishomingo Fish Hatchery, wasnt expecting a tour. But met Mr.Fillmore whos in charge of the Alligator Snapping Turtle program, he gave me a personal tour of the building, even tho they were busy trying to get paddlefish to spawn. Was extremely grateful, found out about some volunteering. basically just show up and they'll find some thing for you do to do. Mr.Fillmore said they are going to start collecting eggs soon, and would take any help they can get. Sounds like a good field trip for OCHS if we're not booked up? I plan on helping, going to get a schedule. I posted the photos on my facebook. I'll upload them here tonight when Im at work.
